El Centro is looking for students interested in serving as Senators and Associate Senators in ASCSU for El Centro. This position is a volunteer opportunity that is a great fit for those looking to get involved and grow skills in leadership, advocacy, and collaboration. The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:

• Represent the needs of students that engage with El Centro in CSU’s student governing body.
• During ASCSU meetings, elections, subcommittee meetings, while voting, represent needs of students connected to El Centro.
• Attend ASCSU meetings once a week, plus additional subcommittee meeting requirements
• Attend El Centro Staff meetings monthly to share updates with student leads associated with our office.
• Speak with your constituents to best represent their needs.
• Meet bi-weekly with the Director of the El Centro who serves as advisor for El Centro Senate Delegates.

How the appointment process works:

• Candidates who are interested must submit their application by August 28 at 12:00pm.
• All applicants will be interviewed who show interest.  The interview consists of a conversation about why the candidate wants to represent El Centro students, ideas the candidate has to help improve the experience of El Centro Students at CSU, and lastly a conversation about your leadership and communication philosophy since ASCSU is meant to be a collaborative space. 
• After the interview, all applicants will need to come to an El Centro student staff meeting so El Centro students can provide their final approval on candidates.
