Orgullo Rising - Returning Student Success

Orgullo Rising is a mentoring program open to all students with an emphasis on supporting students in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year who are looking to set themselves up for success after graduation. This includes interest in pursuing graduate school, employment, internships, STEM-related research positions, and more. This program is a collaboration of the Cultural Resource Centers (housed in El Centro and the Pride Resource Center) and is open to all.

Over the course of one semester, participants will:

  • Connect with a mentor who is a current graduate student at CSU
  • Attend two personalized 1:1 meetings to reflect on goals, challenges, and growth
  • Attend two to three interactive workshops focused on academic success, career readiness, and research/internship opportunities
  • Build community at program events, including a launch, mid-semester gathering, and final celebration
  • Access a network of peers, campus resources, and student support services (like El Centro, Career Services, and Pride, and more).
  • Receive guidance on everything from study strategies to exploring STEM opportunities—all tailored to your interests.

Whether you’re clarifying your major, preparing for your career, or simply seeking a supportive community, Orgullo Rising is here to meet you where you are and help you move forward with confidence. Building community at CSU impacts your sense of belonging, your continued growth and well-being, and ultimately your success and retention – we are here to help!
