Mission of El Centro 

The mission of El Centro is to provide support for the Latinx/Afro Latinx/Chicanx/Multiracial community at CSU and Fort Collins. We do this by encouraging student engagement, academic success, cultural pride, empowerment, and volunteer/leadership opportunities. We strive to promote an inclusive environment that focuses on awareness and understanding of the Latinx experience.

Our student staff play an integral role in the success of our mission, values, programs and services. Our student staff are key to creating an atmosphere in El Centro where all Latinx/Afro-Latinx/Chicanx and Multiracial Students feel welcomed, valued, affirmed and supported. Family Leader

Family Leaders are responsible for establishing community by planning weekly activities for a group of first-year students. Overall, Family Leaders support first-year and transfer students with academic, social, and personal transitions.

Front Desk Office Coordinators

The Front Desk Coordinators play a critical role in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all who enter El Centro. Front Desk Coordinators an essential role in ensuring that all guests that enter El Centro feel welcomed, valued and affirmed. Essentials duties include covering the front desk, greeting visitors, answering phone calls, responding to emails, creating social media posts, and providing office tours.

Student Event Coordinator

The Student Event Coordinator assists with various El Centro programs and events. Main events and programs are Latinx Heritage Month, Community Celebration, and the End of Year Celebration. Collaboration and relationship building are critical in this role
